We get asked about the work we do for Devonshire homes all the time and really don’t think people understand the scale of the sites, so we thought this might help!
We were approached a couple of months ago to take part in a local promotional video for SW Productions. They wanted to showcase their own skills whilst promoting local businesses and encouraging them to promote each other. The little video was a success and we thought it would be a great idea to have the additional extended video to properly show the Devonshire Homes sites we’re currently working on for both block laying and scaffolding services. We have been established for over 25 years and have a wealth of experience in both the domestic and commercial sectors. We’re fortunate to have worked and be working with some of the bigger established home builders in the Devon and Cornwall area. We have recently finished work on the Sherford contract for Bovis Homes to concentrate on our work with Devonshire Homes.
We have to say they are one of the best companies we’ve worked with for a long time and this is reflected in the homes they build.
Our team are highly experienced at designing and erecting a wide-range of platforms as part of our Commercial and Domestic Scaffolding services; from home renovations to larger projects such as New Build sites and shop refurbishments.
Highly trained scaffolders and scaffolding contractors who are experts when it comes to managing and inspecting different sized projects. This is what makes us one of the most reliable and respected scaffolding companies in the Westcountry.
Traditional build projects are reliant on the right scaffolding and access solution from the outset of the project to ensure that the scaffold provided allows a multi trade safe and efficient working environment.Usually a single boarded working lift, working to SG4:15 and TG20:13 is raised with ‘progress of work’ as the brickwork and floors are constructed on the building.
Working up to eaves, the final working lift is positioned to allow roofing works to be completed and then subsequent adaptation of the scaffolding is undertaken to allow for any detailed external finishes, cleaning down or window installation. The scaffolding working lifts are now generally erected with two lifts per floor of the building, which allows for a maximum 1.5m bricklayer lift and then a further lift to allow for the floor installation not exceeding a fall greater than 450mm as required now for safe floor installation.
This also allows for the safe installation of each working lift to SG4:15 where the handrail for the next working lift is installed from the already boarded lift below before installing ledgers at handrail height and then raising the boards and brickguards.
In addition to Scaffolding Services we also offer a commercial Bricklaying service.
Working with many large home builders in the Devon area such as Bovis and Devonshire Homes we pride ourselves on the quality and professionalism of our tradesmen.
B & H Bricklaying Services have broad knowledge and expertise for brickwork in both housing developments and commercial developments throughout Devon and Cornwall.
